Captus Systems is looking for a Field Engineer to be responsible for all oversight and aspects of the integration of AV systems as well as providing support and expertise to the Captus Project Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring industry standards and procedures are followed, final installation inspections as well as assistance with system turn-over and client acceptance will be required. Job responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide complete programming support for Crestron, Extron and/or AMX products including providing source code and control panel layouts for integrated audiovisual systems
Work with Project Team to prepare control system submittals
Assure each system's physical completeness is in accordance with contract documents
During the job commissioning phase maintain an on-ongoing dialog with the Project Team ensuring the system's quality and performance meet the job requirements
Provide complete system testing, commissioning, end-user training and prepare punch lists
Ensure accurate document mark-ups are produced and turned into the Project Lead/Supervisor in a timely manner and inform Project Lead about change order opportunities
Provide high level service call technical support, either remote or onsite, as needed.
Write and fully tweak audio programs for the following audio DSP’s: ClearOne and Biamp
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in the AV/IT industry
4+ years' experience providing field engineering support
CTS and / or CTS-I certification required
Any formal training from Biamp, ClearOne, Polycom, Starleaf or Cisco installation experience / certification a plus.
Have basic Creston, AMX and/or Extron certifications, as well as, proficiency loading and retrieving code
Have ability to apply firmware update to various products used in a project
Have ability to inspect and maintain cable management.
Have proficiency in testing/loading Creston/AMX/Extron programs and touch panel layouts, DSP products like Biamp, ClearOne, Polycom, BSS, and more
Proficient in setting up audio and video conferencing systems as well as adjusting common audio equipment and video display systems, and configuring a wired or wireless TCP/IP network
Must have excellent communication skills and possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability and do advanced troubleshooting on any device
Have ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and be able to work in various working conditions from executive boardrooms to construction sites and hot humid to cold places
Must have the ability to work with cloud-based applications for project & time management
Travel to client sites and other Captus Systems offices is required
Education: High School Diploma or greater
Computer Experience: Good computer skills including proficiency using Windows, MS Office, Apple & Android devices
